Peace and Beauty

I enjoyed a delightful hike in Mt. Tabor Park with a friend.

Mt. Tabor is a volcanic butte. In the 1880s, several reservoirs were built as part of Portland's drinking water system. In the early 1900s, the City added acreage and hired Fredrick Law Olmsted's landscape designer to create the 176-acre park.

There is a variety of trails and roads, including five designated trails of various lengths in the park.

In 2023, Mt Tabor was designated as the first Urban Quiet Park in the U.S.
