Tearing my hair out with a frog in my throat

A 36 hr mini break in Wakefield and York celebrating R’s 67th birthday.
We had a lovely dinner last night and then after a rubbish nights sleep a great hotel breakfast.
We were in the Minster by 10, and despite balking at the admission fee rather than voluntary donation agreed it was worth it. An amazing place with so many layers, really enjoyed the undercroft museum.
We then had a mooch about the main tourist area The Shambles, but it was very busy so wandered off and got deliberately “lost”.
After lunch we headed for the National Railway Museum which was.. anorak heaven and that’s coming from a railway man’s daughter :)
Now home and looking forward to my own bed!
