MiniMe & I

Tropical Storm Chantal came ashore in the early hours this morning and brought a heavy downpour of rain. We got 1.5” in less than 2 hours. Over all today we got 2”. Much less than expected as the backend of the storm didn’t have the same rain bands as the front did.

About 3:30am an EF-0 tornado touched down not too far from us and one of our friends had to wait for roads to be cleared of debris before she could drive to church. Other than large limbs in her yard, she was okay but her neighbour was not so fortunate and had a large tree fall on his home.

We headed into church this morning and it was nice to start the service with everyone standing to sing the national anthem.

With the storm having gone through it wasn’t as miserably hot today and so our lunch of ham, mashed potatoes and sweet corn was most enjoyable and after a couple of hours we had peach ice cream for dessert.

Kent’s niece, who is close to our age, and will soon be our across the road neighbour, called me. We spent time talking of spiritual questions and had a nice conversation. I’ll be happy when we’re neighbours and have discussions like that more often.

MiniMe and I often have conversations too but I don’t think anyone else understands what we’re talking about. >^..^<
