I'm not used to sitting here in a canoe. Toby's getting better at steering and he wanted to start the day in the back. I had to learn to paddle on the left and not try to steer!
After yesterday's epic and draggy last 5km we decided to have a shorter day. Thanks to the overnight rain the river was a bit fuller and there was more flow, plus the wind had turned to a north Westerly which meant it was behind us for most of the trip. This never happens! 12km done in about 2 hours, we got out at montford bridge and Uber took is back to the car.
Kingfisher sightings today: over 9. (Although some were the same pair crossing the river in front of us)
Total distance 42km.
160km of river left to do on another trip.
