Lincoln

Arrived in Washington DC early today and had a great walk along the Mall to the Lincoln Memorial - apparently the second-most photographed state in America. It was being repaired after a crazy woman defaced it with paint, but it was still very impressive. I watched the film "Lincoln" on the flight over, and it makes me want to read a little bit more about the man. Meanwhile, I am just enjoying the various Smithsonian Museums (which are free, air-conditioned, and a wonderful escape from the 85% humidity of Washington!)
