Sloe Lane Bakery

Boy, I was tired today, but I had a pretty busy day so had to keep going as best as I could with a soggy head and a weary body.

A relatively slow start (hoping for a run of these for the next ten days or so...), then the first task was to drop the bike for its service at Leith Cycles. I walked down Leith Walk as briskly as I could manage afterwards (picking up a blip of the new hipster bakery on the way - instead of Hobz Bakery (which has moved to the East Neuk....as you do....) and a cinnamon bun straight out of the oven at Kvasa). Onwards to the market, where pies (and a sausage roll) were procured and I enjoyed a convivial coffee and chat with RB13 and meles. It seems I might be able to make meles' show this year in the free fringe as I am making a short trip back to Edinburgh in August.

I spent the rest of the day mostly in the flat...heading back out to the bike shop when the bike was ready to collect and otherwise alternately some lazy time in my chair with making a start on giving the place a spring clean. With a week here and not working, I should be able to manage most of the things on my list.

My last foray was back across to Leith Walk, but this time I went by bike. It was to meet the nieces for dinner at Cilantro on Leith Walk. Pretty good Indian food, I would say. They are at the end of their road trip and they still had to go and drop off their hire car and find their way to the hotel they were staying in, prior to early starts tomorrow, so we had an early dinner which suited me. I left the restaurant with enough leftovers in tupperware pots to mean I won't have to cook on Sunday, which suits me fine!

Since I was back in the flat relatively early, I sat with the rest of the bottle of wine I started yesterday and finished my book (the first in the Seeker series).
