View from my Window

I woke to yet another morning’s view swaddled in a blanket of wet mist. There was light rain which tailed off by the time I headed out of the door towards the slip where a mobile sauna was a-waiting the selkies-in two groups of six with an hour for each group. We swam, we chatted in the sauna, we swam, we chatted some more until our hour was up. Perhaps it was the best kind of weather to have a lovely hot seat inside out of the cloying wetness outside.

During the afternoon the mist lifted a bit and things began to dry up but on one of my jaunts out of the house I was taken aback to see my narrow length of the street hotching with people wearing bright orange Helly Hansen anoraks. There would have been no chance of loosing any of these tourists with such eye catching wet weather gear.

I spent too much of the afternoon with the ‘dark art’ and surfing the TV channels keeping up with the tennis and the first day of the Tour. I read somewhere that one uses up calories just watching sport - it’s a nice thought.
