The word avocado is derived from an Aztec word.

Having at one time had a bad image as being high in fat, it has now been reinstated as the "perfect food" - the fats are very healthy ones, and the fruit bulges with anti-oxidants and other cancer fighting soldiers!

And if you buy them to ripen at home, they can be as little as a quarter of ready to eat!

And I like them!
