Fidge

Radio Orkney forecast said '..a bright start.' It wasn't. Dreich and pretty chilly. We decided to walk to the PO in the village (a package to go to Edinburgh). Met Onnie in his peedie car. He drives around the parish to see what's happening. He came down onto the Breck to see if Neil had cut the grass behind Findlay's Cottage. Walked back home from the PO via Swanbister Bay. Plenty of Common Gulls, quite a few dunlin and redshank and two or three ringed plovers. During this time the day had really improved.

Couldn't resist taking out the camera on the Fidge (again). Hoy hills in distance, Orphir Hills on right.

On arriving home I was overwhelmed by the aroma of an onion loaf which the current Mrs Creel had put on - but hadn't told me about.

She then said 'You go and put your feet up dear, I'll bring you some warm bread, buttered, with a lovely cup of tea'. It was at this stage that I realise I could maybe become a writer of fantasy.
