Beauty is all around us.

Rishton Parish Church garden.

Having a wonderful daughter with a place to study at York university is still a great joy.
We got up at 7:30am this morning because it is the day on which accommodation for undergraduates is allocated for first choice confirmed places.
Maria logged on at 8am as advised, and within a very few minutes, the site crashed.
Oh my goodness you will not believe the perseverance we needed to progress with this.
Eventually after five and a half hours of crashing site and having to revive the connection every five minutes, Maria went from being 1, 278 in the queue, to the one they could offer what was still available.
This was at 1:30pm!
Thank the Lord, she is able to have self catering, but all the en suites had gone. She had set her heart on a particular house, but this went in the first few hours.
It was a bad shambles and poor Maria , who is a patient, kind and gentle natured girl, was in tears after five and a half hours of this process.
It was a very difficult time and I think they need to get the system sorted much better by this time next year.
Some poor souls are still stuck in it. after six hours online, and the facebook site for freshers, is expressing alarm, to put it mildly.
Maria's college friend " I ", is by what I would call
Divine Syncronicity, in the same house and there is a grow your own food allotment nearby.
The frustration of it all is but a memory now and I am glad Maria persevered.
She has gone shopping with a friend in Blackburn now, so she can enjoy herself and put it all in perspective.
I have been gardening at The Rishton Arms, and I am now going to the Co-op for some chocolate muffins. A serious bit of comfort eating but in moderation!
Have a good Tuesday blipper friends..
