Time to go home
Mother demanded (yes I did say demanded) that I crochet her three flowers to sew onto one of her jumpers. After a lengthy wait and a stare that normally renders teenage boys sheepish (teaching does have some advantages,) she finally politely asked.
When I'd finished, she looked at them and said "they're lovely Cordelia, you wouldn't believe that you only taught yourself to crochet a few days ago" "they're fine". "FINE"!? harrumph!!!
That, on top of her continual criticism of everything and everyone over the past few days, leads me to declare that the old bat's she's back to her "normal" self and ready to go home!
I'm glad that I'm adopted ... oh no! hold on! that was just a dream!
I wonder why it's only people that don't know her that say "You'll miss her when she's gone"?
I'm still awaiting the "thank you" .... I'll not hold my breath.
