Dave constantly finds himself on the wrong side of a door. He only found his voice aged about 5 and since then doesn't so much meow as yelp in the weediest of ways. This is one of his more successful tactics for gaining entry... he gallops down the path and throws himself at the door, creating a loud thud and thus alerting our attention to his arrival.
