Happy 100th Birthday to the Shipping Forecast!

A subliminal aspect of British life, the shipping forecast has bern broadcast by the BBC continuously since 4th July 1925. As a frequent R4 listener I often catch the early and late broadcasts. It is a great way to keep up with the weather around our extensive coasts and islands and the sea state across the whole of this chart. We are still waiting for “precipitation in sight” in Gloucestershire and lower temperatures!
