Today's the day ....................... to say goodbye

Those of you that follow Will's journal will know that he has recently been down in Cambridge.  He was there to celebrate the life of Sylvia, a good friend of his, who died recently.  

They both spent time in the Botany School back in the early 70s, when Will was doing research for his Ph.D.  They both spent many hours counting pollen grains in sediment taken from various lochs - and using the results to work out the vegetation history of that particular area.

He returned home today, with what could only be described as a 'Goody Bag' .  It was the idea of Sylvia's children and it contains a small sample of her favourite things to eat and drink - ie. Tea, Jelly Babies, Tangfastics and Green & Black Chocolate.  There is also the inspired choice of a candle - of a pollen grain.

So the instructions are, as follows - Please light a candle, enjoy Mum's favourite things and take the opportunity to say goodbye ........................
