Polwarth

I am now the very proud owner of a gorgeous fleece from a pedigree Polwarth sheep from the Keepers Flock, as written about in Yarnmaker (Jan/Feb 2012). This is apparently the only remaining flock of Polwarths in Europe. The staple is about 10cm and has a fine crimp and a little bit of lustre. It also has the most beautiful handle, so soft and bouncy. I can't wait to try it but unfortunately it will have to wait in the queue of other fleece I have to process.
