Quiet ways

It's amazing how you can just take a slightly different route through a busy city and find it quiet.  I've stumbled on some real delights in London, completely by accident.  One route I took (thanks to Google) near Vauxhall had me walk along what at first appeared to be a dead end, but then took me through a building and into a little community garden before I emerged onto a main road once more.  

This is Birmingham. I've been a regular here for years and had to visit many different locations but not so much off the beaten track. I should explore a bit more, really.
