The Punk Office
This building is 'Holt Vinyl Vault' housing a second hand vinyl record business. The building itself was, some years ago (and before we moved here), the local Post Office and the owner has simply covered over the letters 'ost' with 'unk' over the door to make it the 'Punk Office'.
I have to say that the whole thing gives off a rather scruffy appearance and the one time I went in to have a look the owner was about as welcoming as the exterior would suggest. I think he looked up briefly but there was no friendly smile or words of greeting; I am reliably informed that he used to be the Postmaster when the building was still the Post Office and his manner was just the same in those days!
The Royal Mail sorting office still occupies the building behind and I had a notification from them that they would be delivering a parcel to me between 8.35am and 12.35pm today. It finally arrived at 12.33pm (I'm not sure the postman appreciated my comment about him just making it within the time given) meaning I missed a talk in town that I had intended to attend. However, W still went along and by all accounts, I didn't miss much.
