Last of the Line

The Giant is Back. Gogmagog, the last of the legendary giants of Albion who was slain by the Trojan warrior Corineus and thrown into the sea. The two figures are pictured here on the grassy bank in front to of the 15th century Royal Citadel on Plymouth Hoe, which is still in use today. The myth is no doubt enjoyed by the passengers on the cruise ships which increasingly call at Plymouth at can be seen moored in Plymouth Sound.
