Manchester Trip

Finally got to drive down to Manchester to pick up L. On the way, 2 visits in the suburbs. Urmston with my school friend Chris who treated me to some mussel-frites while we watched a little Wimbledon together - he loves watching tennis. Then my Grammar School form and English teacher where we sat out in the garden and talked politics and history. Then on to Manchester Airport - but as the plane was going to be an hour and half late, I Google spotted a pub in Styal - only 2 miles from the airport and had a small fish and chips and a ginger beer while reading the paper and doing the crossword and codeword. Picked L up at about 10 and got back to Darlington at 12:15 despite the A1(M) being closed for a few miles. Both made it to bed asap.
