"Honey Perfume"...

...I don't think I deserved this lovely rose John brought in to me...

...this morning after yesterday's Wheelbarrow Episode - it all worked out well (!) and he's now unpacking the brand new blue one which looks too good to use really, oh well, for $35 I think someone out there is encouraging us to use/buy more wheelbarrows..and I hope we don't have to get another one in a couple of years ..(!)..

...John rather liked that one, so did I - it sure travelled a few miles..but he took all of the bolts and screws out of it - for later - 'they might come in handy later' he says..

...But on a kinder note - here is our very first Spring rose - with the sweet name of 'Honey Perfume' - but it hasn't really got much of a fragrance, it doesn't smell like the lovely 'Mr Lincoln' or others similar - but it's a 'stayer' as they say - it goes on and on flowering, despite the heat of summer and sometimes the invasions of bugs..and mould..and black spot..it can still present us with a little bit of sweetness to brighten our day..

..The bloom you see - is sitting in a dear little vase which has been made from the timber of the rainforest tree - Camphor Laurel - and was bought at Port Macquarie in New South Wales..Australia..

...The Camphor Laurel is known for it's wonderful wood turning and expensive furniture of old..and it has the most beautiful sweet fragrance of it's own..when freshly cut..

... I have a lovely (expensive) big bowl my Mum gave to us many years ago, and it still has the faintest fragrance - it's too pretty to use..but like the New Wheelbarrow - it should/will be used - even so..
