Tompkins

It was either this boring picture of the Nike presentation or a picture of me with the Junior Olympic champion of the high jump. She probably would have thought it was creepy, though.

This morning's run was the toughest of the week. We ran on Tompkins road, which is basically half a mile up, and then a mile and a half down. Sounds fun, right? Well, it is until the way back. Somehow I managed to run the way there in 11:35 and make it back over in almost the same amount of time...my last 800 was in 2:24. I was flying and it felt great. I finished 6th for our bunk of 16, and I couldn't be happier. Last year, that hill seemed insurmountable, but that wasn't the case this year!

After lunch, we all got ready for COLOR WAR. I made my return to the Orange team (from my freshman year) and worked to bring glory to all things orange. I participated in four events: the shoe relay, the DMR, the hula-hoop relay, and the bean bag paddle toss thing. I performed rather well, and I'm especially proud of how quickly I found my show in a pile of 119 others.

Our cheer was perfect, our captains kayaked to victory, and we thought we had won. Frazer had even announced it and handed over the trophy. Just as we were all dispersing and getting ready to scrub the paint off of our bodies, a tragic miscalculation in the scores was noticed. Pink was the true winning team of Color War 2013. Our hearts were crushed, as was my perfect winning streak.

Dinner was followed by a presentation by Chris from Nike. I learned quite a bit about the history of Nike, and it was followed by the Mr. and Mrs. Foundation contest, so I definitely had an interesting night. After that ended, I chilled in the Canteen with Marissa, Alyssa, and Shannon before s'mores and soccer with Stacie and Diana.
