The approaching storm
First thing this morning we headed to the Regal boat factory where D had arranged for a factory tour. The boats are all hand built and it was pretty impressive. At the end we went to the showroom so he could dream :-).
We seem to have the best days when we get away from the tourist areas and today was no exception, a trip over to the lovely warm waters of the Gulf of Mexico at Clearwater and Sand key. After a nice afternoon on the beach we were about to leave the West coast when a major storm blew in, we got stuck on a 7 mile causeway with lightning going off all round us and rain so heavy we couldn't see. One of the lightning bolts struck within 100 feet of us, very loud and scary (exciting) when there's no where to go. We got out of the Storm after Tampa and even now 4 hours later we can still see the lightning in the distance.
This is just before the rain started.
