Recycling
Thank fully we survived the heat of yesterday. It was still 37 degrees C at night fall. We slept with a freezer block strapped to the fan to try and cool the air. I put the thermometer on the table in the sun for 2 minutes around 6pm and it went off the scale - so more than 50 C.
The campsite here is lovely and like most French sites has full recycling facilities as a master of course and a compost heap. Bread recycling is a first for us though. I suspect it was full today as no proper bread would survive the heat of yesterday.
We have moved down to Aixe sur Vienne today. A lovely steady drive down through fields of corn, sunflowers, and combines harvesting barley and rape seed. It is a very pleasant 28 degrees which almost feels cold after the last few days but it is wonderful. Any water we drink isn’t instantly oozing out of every pore!
On the move again tomorrow, to our main destination, but very thankful the weather warning has reduced from red to amber and I think expires over night.
