Gently down the stream

Yellowhammer

The whole of the first part of the day was grey and deliciously cool, but by lunchtime the heat was increasing and the sun coming out.  I went up to the butterfly reserve, but to the other end from where I usually go, mainly to see if I could get a shot of the dragonflies.  Unfortunately, the way the pond has been laid out (and fenced in) makes blipping the dragons there too much of a stretch, but luckily for me the yellowhammers were drinking, playing tag and chattering to eachother.  This one, already rather damp, looks like it's about to dive down again - such fun to watch.

The rest of my day has been the usual, so I won't bore you with that - just wish you all a very happy evening  xx
