Syrian smashed carrot dip

Mr C is to have a phone consultation tomorrow re the endoscopy and colonoscopy. He must remember to say he’s on blood thinners.

It was really quite cool this morning. I sorted through old recipes and threw out those I’ve not used or now think I won’t use.

I made this tasty carrot dip for the Veggie Food group at Ali’s. Suzie’s theme was Frugal food so carrots are cheap and I already had the other ingredients. Dorothy made potato salad, Judith did carrot salad and potato and oat fried cakes, Alison did Fondant Potatoes, Suzie made her own pitta breads to go with dal and Ali provided Summer Pudding. It was all delicious. (Dorothy didn’t care for mine - “it were too spicy”). Conversation ranged from food festivals, restaurants, holidays, Lucy Letby, kneecap and Glastonbury as well as the Queen Mother and Bowes Lyon family, and the King’s recent trousering of huge profits from his estate.

I’m almost finished The Art of Losing. It has tailed off a bit for me with the third generation. Maybe it’s just too long.

Disappointingly the colour I liked for the bathroom blinds has been discontinued so he’s going to bring up their alternative for me to look at.
