The difference between yesterday evening's 28.5c and today's 22.1c is so welcome. We can get on with everyday tasks without feeling exhausted.
It was like a sauna most of the evening and night. Today it is like a lovely September cool day.
I wonder how July will turn out weather wise? Nothing too extreme hopefully.

My sister in the South East is fighting ants in their conservatory, after flying ants yesterday in the 30c heat. I am dealing with black ants on the nasturtium leaves. I don't like killing insects nor do I like them eating my plants. So I sprayed the nasturtium leaves with a solution of lemongrass essential oil in a spray of tap water. Washing up liquid in a water spray can be effective too.

It is forecast to rain soon. It is so still and grey, but as it seems unlikely to rain, I watered the very dry plants in flowerpots to revive them. The slugs are a presence in the garden I would prefer not to see. They enjoy eating cornflowers and petunias, gerberas and lemon balm. What a diet! I will avoid growing these next year and try to have a slug proof garden.
