Clydesdale foals

I know I often stop and take photos of Clydesdale at the local farm where I buy bird seed but this evening a few members of our small Rotary club joined members from another Rotary for an official guided tour there.

We were treated to a walk round the fields of mares and foals, some now quite large at a few months old, and our host R gave us a fascinating talk. As a 4th generation Clydesdale breeder there is little he doesn’t know about the history of the breed, and the genetics of all his animals and of the many visiting mares here to meet up with one of his stallions.
