Marjorie's ramblings

Deutzia scabra

This shrub has been in my garden all the years I have been here. This is the first year it has flowered prolifically. I had no idea of its name!

It’s been a mixed sort of day.

Claire could not come to cut my hair because her daughter was ill. It wouldn’t normally matter, but I have the big reunion on Thursday. Not that I am vain, you understand!

I did a bit food shop in Tesco and bought nail polish to match my new dress, for my toenails.

Then I went to see Maureen in her care home. We had a good chat and catch up.

I was home in time to unpack the food and have lunch. The. It was time to go to Corbridge Health a centre and have my first hearing aids fitted.

A very helpful audiologist took me through everything. Once fitted, I have kept them in until bedtime. They seemed fairly comfortable.

I went to see Margaret after this. We also caught up on recent events in our lives.

I must confess that I was very tired after yesterday’s walk.

One very positive thing today is that Oscar came to me for treats and allowed me to lift him onto my knee. This is after months of behaving as if I am the enemy. I was thrilled.
