Chateau de Chenonceau

Every bit as superb as I could have hoped despite the searing heat. The vegetable garden had me in raptures. The whole place is amazing.

A hospital in the First World War, and in the second the river was the demarcation line between German occupation and free France, and the owners helped many to escape.

We are right in the middle of the red weather warning for heat tomorrow, and today has been bad enough so not sure what we are going to do tomorrow.
