Playing Hard to Get
We were taken into North Devon and on a walk from Hunter's Bridge to Heddon's Mouth and up around the headland on the coast path today. Lovely valley & coastal scenery, not too many people but a lot of butterflies (and biting insects and ticks, but we'll forget about them). The headland area is supposed to be one of the best places to see fritillaries - we did see them, whizzing swiftly above our heads, and didn't see any reasonably close up until we were almost down at the valley bottom again. The Blip shows the only one which actually landed within camera reach and it didn't seem to bother about posing properly for me!
