The Pianist

I was hoping to get a photo of someone playing the piano that I blipped a few days ago! I left for my walk around 7:40, knowing that the next ferry wasn't scheduled to leave until 9:25 and I could miss most of the traffic heading down to catch it. There were quite a few people already in the line up and wandering around. Long weekend, so of course it's extra busy. This young man and his wife were sitting on the dock close to the piano, and he said to me that it's great to have a piano there. I told him that I'd taken a photo before and was hoping to get one of someone playing it. His wife said that he'd just finished playing, and he asked me if I wanted him to play and take a photo. Yes! Very good he was too, and the music sounded lovely on a beautiful summer morning in such a lovely place. We chatted for awhile, and he said that he'd been born on Salt Spring but his family moved to Burnaby when he was very young. They've come back a few times to visit friends. He and his wife moved back here four years ago and they're so happy that they did. 
Got a lot done in the garden when I got home. It's a lovely summer day, perfect for sitting outside with a good book in the afternoon, and that's exactly what I plan to do.
