Bejewelled
Yup, more murk but I did the stone circle circuit and it was surprisingly gorgeous up on the mountain, the bog now very damp but full of interesting things - tons of cobwebs, little jewelled asphodels, pale pink orchids and little cream moths. Everywhere was shrouded in mist, the damp bringing out the colours of the hedgerows - fuchsias, meadowsweet, ragwort and honeysuckle. Lots of birds and damp cattle but few humans - one encountered off to feed a wild cat, and three others lighting the sauna outside the pub. I was sweltering by the time I passed Kitchen Cove and the water looks rather inviting and very calm, the tide not too far out. I leapt in!
Chats with the brother in Altrincham and Will in Bristol - he says it's going to be 30c there tomorrow - oof. We may get a glimmer of light on Tuesday.
