Cinnabar
Back once again - yesterday is back-blipped.
We had a relaxed morning today. Normally we would have visited Jeri and the family this weekend but they're away. Grace and Sophia went on holiday today after moving into their new flat yesterday. It has been a hectic weekend for them so they will be ready for a break. They are going with their housemates of the last few years.
After lunch we took a drive to Cherry Willingham's little nature reserve, Cherry Fields. It has woods, wild meadows, a designated dog paddock - dogs can be in other areas but only off lead in the paddock - and orchard area. The wildflower areas were alive with butterflies - we saw Gatekeepers, Meadow Brown, Red Admiral, Large Skipper and various types of white butterfly. Also this Cinnabar moth! It looks distinctly better in Large, even though it is smaller!
As well as the butterflies there were some horse-flies. Last time we encountered them they preferred to bite me rather than Brian. Not so today - Brian was flavour of the month! A couple did bite me, then flew off without coming back for more once dispatched. I wonder if my blood is less appealing now due to my blood thinning medication...
It was hot today, though overcast. Tomorrow is apparently due to be even hotter, with a return of the sunshine.
When we came home we watched St Helens annihilate Salford. Brian's gone for a nap and I have England Lionesses' last warm-up game before the Euros on TV and Ella Toon just scored for England against Jamaica.
