Stained Glass

I was out delivering the village newsletter / magazines this morning. A nice day for it. And a kind lady invited me in and offered me a coffee.

It would be rude to refuse so I said yes.

Whilst she was preparing the drinks she invited me to have a wander around the garden, which is huge and mostly overgrown.

I enjoyed the interlude but an acre of garden is a lot for an eighty year old lady, and her much older husband.

Whilst they have help mowing the lawns the borders and outhouses are losing the battle with nature.

I felt sad for them as I have seen the signs before.

Indeed,  my own garden is hard work and may one day be too much.

It was a nice diversion but left me feeling conflicted.
