Happy Moments

Sunflower Sunset

One week after the summer solstice and my early morning shot I thought I’d go for sunset today. However there is a lot of cloud about this evening and although it wasn’t a bad image of the sky, where I had to stand in the garden was right by the sunflowers and then it just kind of morphed into this image instead.
As you can see, it’s nearly in flower. This one is the tallest, I would say at about 6ft, given the angle and my height.

Yesterday early evening I accompanied our Friday zoom leader (and neighbour) to a prom photo shoot. She had been asked by someone she knows to take some photos of L, her boyfriend, L’s mum and partner and other family members at the local secondary school prom evening at Kirkleatham walled garden.

As I’ve never done any photography like that I was happy to be the back up and really just went along for the experience.
I haven’t seen the photos that O took yet, but out of maybe 60 that I took, I’m sufficiently happy with 10 of them to pass over.

Anyway, at the prom, the ‘young adults’ turned up in all sorts of transport. High end cars (Porsche, Ford Mustang, Lotus, Morgan), some classics like VW camper vans and a Morris Minor, 3 girls turned up on horseback, 1 in a pink customised VW, 1 in a fisherman’s boat being towed and finally, one turned up in a fire engine….

And all the lads looked well turned out. The girls, well. I think they had all been getting their hair, nail and make up done for days and days beforehand. The dresses were every shade imaginable and I have to say some were absolutely beautiful. Can’t imagine what it all cost.

Once I’ve handed my photos over, if I get the go ahead from them, I’ll put a few up in extras.
