Walnut blisters
It was already warming up on our early morning walk at 6am. The breeze was still refreshing then. Spotted the walnut leaves which have been attacked by the walnut blister mite.
Put washing out wondering if the humidity would impair drying. By the end of the day it was very dry indeed.
I've been indoors mostly today. Used up over-ripe bananas in a chocolate and banana loaf cake. Made mayonnaise for a potato salad. It's salads all the way on these hot days.
A slice of the cake makes a tasty dessert with fruit and ice cream.
Done a bit more sorting and packing. Kept activities to the morning when it was cooler.
Cannot believe what this government is doing with Personal Independent Payments (PIP)! People already receiving it won't have a reduction but those coming on stream will. Essentially a two-tier, inequitable system. They're so desperate to grab money from those who can ill afford it. Labour have completely lost their way.
The temperature here was the same as Salerno in Italy according to the internet. When I informed my cousin she said it was 38° there not 31° describing it as an African heat.
A warm night ahead and the BBC forecast states 'an even hotter day'. Thank goodness I've got two bottles of water chilling in the fridge.
Stay cool everyone.
