No diamonds . . . .

. . . on this sole! With apologies to Paul Simon! After a wild and windy day I love to walk the shoreline and see what has been washed up. This was today's find. The leather sole of an old shoe!

Spent a productive hour on the phone trying to sort out a cheaper deal with jolly old BT. A very nice lady in India suggested we try using Infinity broadband, she registered that we were in UK, but couldn't get her head round the fact that our average speed was only 0.36Mb/second and that we won't be getting Infinity up here anytime soon!

Later spoke to Mike, in Manchester, who said the maximum speed we could expect here was 2Mb/second but that it could be as slow as 0.28! He obligingly gave us a reduction of 10% off the broadband charge, and suggested that we pay for our line rental in advance, thereby getting 12 months for the price of nine! Whoopee! What a good job I have enough free time to spend an hour on the phone on a Monday morning!
