A Thousand a Day

Buttermere

It is one year to the day, since I taught my last lesson in a classroom. What better way to mark the first anniversary of my retirement than to climb the three hills that flank the western shore of Buttermere?
This shot, looking back across the lake, towards High Snockrigg and Robinson, was taken on the way to the first summit of Red Pike, via Bleaberry Tarn. High Stile and High Crag completed a fantastic day on the fells with a wonderful stroll back along the lake.
