The second half of life..

Fresh snow.....

It rained most of the night - not heavy, but enough to let you know it was still there.  Being in a van of course, every sound is amplified so a few drops of rain on the roof can seem like a lot when in fact, it's not as bad as it feels.  Nevertheless, I went to bed with rain falling, half expecting to wake to the silence that snow brings.  I woke to the same rain drop sounds.  By the time I left the campground it had stopped and the fresh snow that had been forecast to fall down to about 700m began to reveal itself.  It's continued as a bit of an on again off again sort of a day but one thing that's definitely changed is the temperature........it's plummeted!  Late this afternoon was about 2 degrees - very different to the balmy 16 degrees of a couple of days ago.  The good news is that, of the conditions required for a hoar frost to form, cold temperatures is one of them.  Fingers crossed for more cold (never in a million years did I ever think I'd say such a thing!)

I wonder if there'll be a white carpet of quiet tomorrow morning.......?
