The Salt Path
We went to the afternoon showing (as old people do) of The Salt Path. Not a bad film but to get the most from it you must have read the book. It only follows the journey about half way then sums up the rest with a few lines on the screen at the end. The book is excellent, the film so so but helps to pass a couple of hours.
Southport is a typically grim seaside town. The extra shows the tourists enjoying what it has to offer. The pier was closed a few years ago by the Labour council thus closing the only reason to visit. The Labour government has allocated money for its refurbishment sometime in the distant future if a complete u turn isn't performed in the meantime.
Very windy and warm.
