It's started, officially
Today was the "first" day of the festival even though it's been going for the last two days. Bigg name acts and several surprise appearances. Lewis Capaldi was one of these surprises although the Pyramid stage was so crammed I suspect the secret leaked . He was here a couple of years ago but had to cut his set right down because of his health. He said the last year's had been rough but he is back. Very emotional from both him and the crowd.
I went to see the Searchers for their very last show. For those of my age, yes it is the "Needles and Pins"
chaps, started before the Beatles. Great sing along with lots of arm waving and clapping. Huge ovation when they finished.
Best watch was Skerryvore, a band formed, they said in Tiree, a very small Scottish island. A normal group, a couple of guitarists, a drummer , a fiddle player and a guy on keyboards. Add to this three blokes who played a variety of instruments so sometimes there were one or accordions , or one or two big recorders or one or two bagpipes. The whole place was bouncing for their entire set. I was very near the front and bounced with the best.
Tomorrow night is Neil Young but there will be lots to see before that.
