Nature, Dance Lane
This Comma butterfly did me the favour of sitting still for long enough to take its photo. I’d thought about taking a camera and a longer lens, but in the end I decided against it as the wind was strong. Fortunately the lane is less exposed than where I live and the wind speed was much lower.
This short walk along the lane has given me so much pleasure. Sometimes it’s about what I see but more often it’s about what I hear. Presently there seems to be only one Chiffchaff calling, but earlier in the spring I think I counted at least 6 as I walked along the lane. Then there are always Goldfinches twittering away and on most visits I hear the song thrush near the bridge. I’d accidentally written Goldcrests instead of Goldfinches, which I didn’t hear, but in the past the Merlin Bird Song App has told me there are Goldcrests in the nearby conifer plantation ( definitely the right habitat for them.)
