Happy Christmas wishes come true.

I feel incredibly lucky to have got the best gift this Christmas - mum and dad both with us for dinner, no hospital visits, no sadness. Just a thankful handful of hours as the heartbreaking complications of old age for them and the regular responsibilities for me paused just for one day, allowing us to enjoy eating together and feeling absolutely chuffed as punch that the photo from last year hasn’t been replicated or even worse, had one less person at the table.

Mum was exhausted before too long and Dad did want to get home before too late though - something I’ll try to remember for next year, if another one comes around.
