An ordinary life....

The way to a man's heart...

Woke to news this morning of the "heat dome' enveloping Europe and how it will affect the south of England, bringing very high temperatures.  Looking out my window at the rain here I was thankful for once that Scotland will miss the worst of that!

Before our lovely Blip Pal P headed back to the USA in May, she gifted us  afternoon tea at the Cairn Lodge Hotel and today was the day we booked to have it. Thankfully there was a break in the rain so we didn't get soaked getting there.

We received the usual warm welcome and were shown to a table in the conservatory with a lovely view of the garden.  We were then served the most delicious afternoon tea.  I wish my scones made D look as happy as these ones!  :-))  It was so deliciously indulgent.  I wasn't able to finish all of mine so the waiter kindly packed it up for me to take home.  More delicious pics in extras.

As we left the restaurant manager said he hoped he'd see us soon and we told him we'd be back a week tomorrow as part of a party of 8 for lunch.  He got quite enthusiastic and said they have a new head chef and are launching their new menu next Friday.  He said it will be completely different and he can't wait for us to try it.  Looking forward to it even more now!  :-)

I had plans to do various things this evening but they fell by the wayside but I have managed to arrange for Nikki, Orla, Ele and Jen to come for lunch on Tuesday.  Esme is on holiday with her other gran so I will miss the little whirlwind.  Looking forward to Orla cuddles though :-))

Thank you again Partricia for your lovely gift.  We enjoyed it very much :-)
