How Friday Mornings Used To Be!

A couple of drizzle showers first thing, turned into a hazy sunshine kind of day, lovely and warm.  Rain came in this evening.

A morning working on my own, doing oil waste collection from eateries around Lerwick.  By noon, Dan came to join me, litter bins collections and a couple of wheelie bins needing attention.  Walkies with Sammy after work, popped by Madeline's.  Nipped down to Laura's this evening.  Last walkies, then early to bed.

Friday mornings breaks used to be about the Shetland Times.  I would say to catchup on local news, but it was mostly flicking through the photos, seeing who had been in court, the 'What's On', and then the local classifieds.  With it all online now, the sales have plummeted.  I stopped buying it years ago, when it hit £1, now at £2.50 and very few pages.  Recent years it was all windfarm propaganda, which did not go down well with me.  The paper and printing had been up for sale, with this week being the last ever copy printed in Shetland.  It has been taken over from a printing company on the mainland, then will be shipped up here, saving a few jobs.  It was fine flicking through the pages this morning break, but life has changed, can it survive?  153 in print, it will be a miss. Me having my morning break at Sand, Gulberwick.
