Town Planning

Our town centre is to have a huge makeover, and today in the library they had the plans exhibited.  

When we came to the town when our children were small, it was a lovely place to bring up children.  However, over the last years, and particularly since the Pandemic, our amenities have been badly eroded.  The town centre is a sorry sight now with a lot of empty shops, and the outlying shopping centres do much better business now.  It doesn't help that the town centre charges for parking your car, while the other areas do not.

It will be interesting to see how this develops.  Demolition of parts of the centre are to be started in February of next year.  Nothing happens quickly here.
