Coo? 'Oo are yoo?

First of all, thanks to all for your support as I've been waiting for news of my friend in Australia. I am glad to report that although she remains very ill, her life is no longer in immediate danger. She is a third-time cancer patient and had a violent reaction to some medication - relatives were asked to fly out to Aus from the UK and have now arrived there though her condition began improving while they were in the air. I feel so much more positive and cheerful! I already had tickets for Aus in early September so will stick to those plans, for the time being.

I was amused by the sight of this pigeon up on a high ledge of a church. Despite the best efforts to deter it from perching here, with plastic spikes and a large owl, this one looks completely unfazed. The pigeon is succeeding against the odds - as is my friend.
