..endeavour to persevere

Butterflies

A bit of an exploratory walk today out to Laceys Cave along a footpath  firmly marked closed which everyone seemed to ignore. The trail runs along by the River Eden and the Settle to Carlisle railway so there were a lot of good reasons for exploration.
We will return to these caves for some photography, suffice to say I need some lighting to make a go of it.
Further options for river and railway images were also evident although Jess half-joked we would need our mountain rescue friend John to rig a belay to get into a decent position.
Photography was saved by butterflies which were everywhere along the trail.  I have given top-billing to the much maligned Small White. In extras a collage, going clockwise, Red Admiral, European Comma, Meadow Brown, Small Tortoiseshell
