To Parrot or Not To Parrot

Conversation in car on the way to the zoo:

"Mom, why do you call the other drivers 'clowns'?"

"Because some people drive without thinking. They're just silly," I say, while thinking to myself, "Because I can no longer mumble 'asshole' under my breath in front of you."

"We're not clowns."

"No, honey. I like to think we're not."

"But daddy's a clown!"
