All Alone

After a dose of paperwork, early this afternoon I drove to nearby Monmouth (South Wales, UK) to buy some industrial weed-killer from the Farm Store there, for use in our meadow area. They make the place so untidy and uncared for.

Not too far away is the hamlet of Llanrothal with the church of St John The Baptist (12th C)  on its own in a farm field right on the border between England and Wales. It's one we've walked to dozens of times over the years but I've never done an aerial view of it. However, the clouds were so strong I got the shot I wanted straight away.

I suspect the church was once not so remote but in a medieval village that was lost due to the Black Death (1346-53AD) although I can't find any record. This is one I took inside in 2011
